Guided Tours

through the Saxon Pharmacy Museum will only take place after prior arrangement either by e-mail or by telephone. The maximum group size is 25 people (see prices). The standard tour will take approximately 1 hour.

We will gladly discuss the organization of the tour according to your individual requests and ideas.

For children we designed a special, more hands-on experience including events such as tablet pressing, tea mixing or the production of ointments.

Our Museum on Tour

For all the people who are interested in our exhibition and the history of Saxon pharmacy but are prevented to visit us at Thomaskirchhof 12, we packed a suitcase and will gladly come to you. Our special focus is on homes for the disabled or retirement homes.

In our unique suitcase we have objects that tell the history of pharmacy and allow a closer look at the work of pharmacists.

Visitors’ library

Since 2009 we offer our guests a special service to further explore specific pharmaceutical topics.

Standard volumes of the pharmacist profession like “Hagers Handbuch der Pharmazeutischen Praxis” but also literature about the history of herbals are available. Book lending is not possible but we set up a reading area.

For even more specific interests we can provide books and reading material from our non-public library (only after prior arrangement).

You can contact us here.

Museum Shop

In our shop you can find a small yet select range of merchandise such as books on herbology and the history of pharmacies. Furthermore, we sell different apothecary receptacles.

Friends and Supporters of the Museum

The museum is significantly supported by the registered association “Förderverein Sächsisches Apothekenmuseum Leipzig e.V.”.
